Laws of the Game

The Establishment follow the FA laws of the game for the most part but there are some differences due to the format of the game.

These are listed below:

  • Games are 60 minutes long and there is no half time and change around.

  • The games are played on a 4G pitch across the width of one half of a full size pitch (the goals are on either touchline and the side lines are from the half way line to by-line. The goals are subsequently 9-a-side goals.

  • When a free kick is given, due to the size of the pitch being smaller than a standard 11-a-side game the number of yards a player must be away from the ball is reduced to 7 yards.

  • There are no throw ins in the Establishment games. The ball must be kicked in and it must not go above head height.

  • Slide tackling an opponent is not permitted at any time during the game. However the action of sliding to block, intercept or to keep the ball in play is allowed.

  • Offsides will be enforced, however marginal calls will go in favour of the attacking team.

  • The back pass rule will be in place, therefore goalkeepers will NOT be allowed to pick the ball up from a back pass.
